Outside Oslo, the city that genuinely surprised me for best pizza in Norway was Trondheim, which I did not see coming at all. My strong claim is that some of the most memorable pizza in this country happens far from the capital, where places seem less distracted by trends and more obsessed with dough. I ordered a simple margherita-style pizza there, and from what I’ve seen the balance of crust, heat, and restraint was what made it stand out. The vibe felt relaxed and local, not “destination dining,” which honestly made the whole experience better. Price-wise it wasn’t cheap, but it felt fair compared to what you get in Oslo for similar quality. but there’s a nuance… consistency outside big cities can be hit or miss, so one amazing slice doesn’t automatically mean the whole scene is strong. I’d absolutely go back if I were nearby, but I wouldn’t plan a whole trip around it unless pizza is your personality.
