[Countrywide] Sea sunsets: which spots are best if you want “park + short walk” (not a long hike)?

Applies to the whole country (not tied to a single city). Use when the answer is the same everywhere in that country.

This thread is for sunset lovers who want simple logistics: drive/park, walk 10–30 minutes, and enjoy the view.
If you’ve found a great sunset point by the sea, please include practical notes that make it doable for others.

What helps most:
  • Exact type of spot (beach, headland, lighthouse, harbor promenade)
  • Where to park and how “easy” the walk feels in real life
  • Whether it’s safe after dark (paths, lighting, cliffs, slippery areas)
  • Best months: long summer evenings vs crisp autumn light
Which sunset spot felt most magical—and what’s your “don’t forget” item when going there?

For sea sunsets with easy logistics, I loved coastal pull-offs near small beaches and headlands around western Norway, where you can park and be staring at the horizon within ten minutes. My strong claim is that some of the best sights in Norway happen when you skip epic hikes and just let the light do the work. From what I’ve seen, beaches with a slight curve or low rocks feel safer and calmer than dramatic cliffs, especially if you’re there past sunset. Parking was usually obvious and legal, and the walk felt more like a stroll than a “this counts as exercise” situation. Late summer evenings were unbeatable for long color shows, while early autumn had fewer people and sharper light. but there’s a nuance… wind and slippery rocks can turn a chill plan into a cold lesson, so checking conditions matters more than chasing the perfect angle. My don’t-forget item is a warm layer you actually want to wear, because sea air wins every argument. Where did you find your easiest sunset spot, and do you prefer summer’s endless glow or autumn’s moodier skies?
